Cucina Lux Investments Limited, the holding company of Brakes Group, today publishes its statutory accounts for the year ended 31 December 2009.

Brakes Group has delivered another strong performance in 2009, consolidating its position as the leading supplier to the catering industry in the UK and France, despite continued economic uncertainty and weakness in consumer demand.


Financial Summary - 2009

Revenue up 7.9% to £2.2 billion (2008: £2.0 billion)
  • UK revenue increase of 6.9%; France revenue increase of 11.8%
EBITDA increase of 8.7% to £151.5 million (2008: £139.4 million)
  • UK EBITDA growth of 10.6%; France EBITDA decline of 3.8%
  • Maintained EBITDA margin at 6.9% (2008: 6.8%)
Continued strong operating cash flow performance
  • Cash flow generated from operations of £143.7m comfortably ahead of net cash pay interest charges of £81.3m
Sound financial position
  • Long-term committed bank facilities in place
  • Considerable headroom in banking covenants
  • No significant debt repayment until 2012
